11/9/2023 0 Comments Mactrack pad crazy![]() I'm still left scratching my head at how I've been unlucky with 2 computers already within a month time span. This does not appear to be any sort of software bug and I tried everything under the sun to try and fix it but still needed to go to Apple for the diagnostics. Still happens.Ĭontacted Apple Sales Support as the Genius Bar technician advised getting in touch with them to process yet another replacement. Diagnostics returned normal so we agreed to simply reinstall the OS to rule out potential software issues. Went to Genius Bar for some diagnostics to ensure it wasn't an issue with the trackpad or software. Mind you, all it's being used for is some light coursework with Microsoft Office and both machines were set up as new so no backups were brought over. Apple took care of it by offering a replacement under the return policy.Ģnd (the replacement) started experiencing the same issues as the 1st, but no cosmetic issues this time around. There were also cosmetic issues as well as dust trapped inside of the screen. I've had the same issues already on two of them.ġst was ordered in December 2020, arrived around 1st/2nd week of January, and then about a week later started having the same exact issues. TLDR trackpad was acting weird by not clicking and cursor jumping around, restarts seemed to fix it, after two months trackpad finally quit, Apple gave me a replacement. They returned it and issued me a new one. As it happened not within my user account it was determined to be a hardware fault. ![]() (edit) Update: Went to Genius Bar appointment today and as the tech was going into diagnostic mode the trackpad totally froze up. Has anyone else encountered this? Is it possible it was entirely a software bug? I plan on keeping this for some time so I’m paranoid it’s a hardware issue, but the closest Apple store is over an hour away. Magic track pads can act up and cause the cursor to be all over the place. I did a forced restart and the issue appears to have gone away.Īfter doing a search, I haven’t found any posts with this exact issue. Is your apple track pad acting all crazy and doing weird stuff This will save you money. ![]() Then all of a sudden the trackpad just stopped working entirely. However during the day today i got to actually using it full time and it developed dead spots. I just assumed this was because all of my apps were installing and photos were downloading. To do so, click the Apple logo in the Mac’s menu bar, select ‘about this Mac,’ then ‘software update. The first thing to do is check if your version of macOS needs an update. At first it would lag occasionally and sometimes the pointer would skip around. If the MacBook trackpad not working is an issue for you, the easiest fix is to plug in an external trackpad or mouse to your Mac. So my two day old M1 trackpad was never acting right. ![]()
